Our history
Over 25 years delivering our highest standard of service to the consumer
Over lunch at the local steelworks some 35 years ago, Andrew Dabill and Christopher Lloyd discussed the mutual need for a change in direction. Having previously discussed a gap in the market for a service that provided good quality fencing, Andrew and Christopher found their new venture! Hillsborough Fencing was born and has gone from strength to strength since. Being family men, their sons later followed them into the business.
Constantly evolving, and supplying to both private and commercial contracts, Hillsborough Fencing needed to move to a new purpose-built premises on Livesey Street, Sheffield. These new premises include a large shop, wood yard housing a large variety of fencing panels, gates, sheds and timber. More recently, the yard has made space for new and redundant railway sleepers.
Hillsborough Fencing is here to support and assist customers with both the physical and visual aspects of designing an outdoor space to be proud of - whether that be through the addition of garden furniture, fencing, or some simple DIY projects. The customer is always our priority, which is why individual needs are always listened to, with many products being adaptable and designed to personally suit our customers and their needs.
Now, having over 25 years of valuable experience, Hillsborough Fencing continues to deliver a high-quality service to all of our customers, backed up by the organic nature and ambition you'd expect from a local family business. I've decked a considerable area of our back garden with boards from Hillsborough Fencing (around 90 boards in total, in two separate batches) and unlike your average DIY shop, I didn't have a single bowed board at all. They've been down for 2 years and still look great.

I must say the timber was of good quality.
I ordered my timber for my pergola I must say the timber was of good quality I was a little worried that some timbers would be twisted/bent (Banana pine) but all was well and made the job easy and looked good .some of the pailings had a bend at the end but simply cut the bent end off its to be expected.

I visited for the first time on Saturday morning and again this morning. On both visits the guys that served me were great, patient and efficient. The guy in the yard was spot on too. The prices are great but that's not to the detriment of quality, all the materials I bought were great.
